Caramelized Onions with Jalapeno

An absolute favourite from Carmazzi: Caramelised onions are the perfect sweet and sour accompaniment to strong, mature cheeses, to grilled or roasted meat, as a burger ingredient or delicious aperitif croutons.

The mild heat of the chilli brings out the intense flavour of the julienne-sliced red onions and also makes a great dressing for a quick salad.
