Jeyuk Bokkeum
Recipe for spicy fried Korean pork with vegetables and rice
Ingredients: (serves 4)
1200 g pork
4 spring onions
2 carrots
4 medium onions
3 small red chillies
2 tsp chilli powder
8 tbsp honey
8 tbsp gochujang paste
8 tbsp soy sauce
4 tsp black pepper
12 garlic cloves
1 tsp sesame seeds
400 ml water
4 tbsp sugar
Preparation:
Mix gochujang paste, chilli powder, soy sauce, honey, pepper and sugar.
Cut the pork into thin pieces and add to the marinade. Leave to marinate for about 1 hour.
In the meantime, peel the onion and cut into fine half rings. Clean the carrot and cut into small strips. Peel and finely chop the garlic. Cut the spring onions and chillies into fine rings.
Remove the meat from the marinade and fry together with the garlic in a little oil over a high heat.
Add the onions and fry for another 5 minutes. Then fry the carrots for a few minutes.
Stir the meat briefly and add a little water. Let it cook for about 3 minutes.
Finally, add the spring onions and chillies and bring everything to the boil again for 2 minutes.
Serve with rice.
