Pimenta para Mojo Chili Seeds
Info: The Pimenta para Mojo chili is an extremely rare and high yielding variety from Peru. Mojo rojo is a traditional spicy sauce from the Canary Islands, but is also the name of a good luck charm. This type is certainly suitable as a base for the Mojo rojo sauce. The thick-walled, juicy chillies, which ripen to a beautiful shiny red with a medium spiciness, grow on the large, bushy plants. As well as for fresh consumption, they are suitable for stuffing with cream cheese or for grilling.
Care: The germination temperature is between 20 und 28°C (8 - 20 day germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost. If you plant them outdoors, the plants should have a distance between them of 45 cm.
You can find plenty of useful tips for successfully growing chili plants in our Chili Growing Guide and in the Chili Journal.
