Holy Mole Chili Seeds
Info: The Holy Mole Chili was bred as a hybrid of the Pasilla Chili in order to provide hobby gardeners with an early ripening, high yielding and robust variety for cultivation in their own gardens. They are resistant against the Tobacco mosaic virus and the potato virus. The chilies ripen from green to chocolate brown and can reach lengths of up to 20 cm. They have a unique, nutty flavour and a mild spiciness. As the name implies, the Holy Mole Chili can be used for the traditional Mexican Mole Sauce. They are also suitable for fresh consumption or can be dried and made into chili powder. In 2007 this variety won the AAS award in the USA due to its many positive characteristics.
Care: The germination temperature is between 20 und 28°C (8 - 20 day germination period), therefore the use of agreenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost. If you plant them outdoors, the plants should have a distance between them of 45 cm.
Tips for successful chili cultivation can be found in our Chili Cultivation Instructions and in the Chili Diary.
