Kashmiri Mirch Chili Seeds
Info: The Kashmiri Mirch chili is a famous and expensive Indian chili type. The bushy plants are about 85 cm tall and bear elongated chillies that ripen from light green to dark green and then to a deep and bright red. The Kashmiri chilli is a deep crimson with a smooth, shiny, thin skin. It is about 5 cm long by 2.5 cm wide and has a nice fruity flavour and a medium heat. In India, usually the pods are dried and ground to a chili powder with an intense red colour. They are also suitable for cooking and pickling.
Care: The germination temperature is between 22 und 28°C (8 - 20 day germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.
You can find plenty of useful tips for successfully growing chili plants in our Chili Growing Guide and in the Chili Journal.
