Xian Horn Chili Seeds
Info: The Xian Horn Chili is the variety used in most Chinese restaurants. Xian (pronounced: chi:an) is originally a Cayenne chili, but unlike its cousins from India or Thailand, this special breed is sweeter in taste and less spicy. The plants grow about 80 cm tall, are productive and the pods are very crisp and juicy, with the length of a large female hand and sometimes wrinkled. This chilli is perfect for Chinese recipes. Ideally it should be finely chopped and put directly into the wok.
Care: Germination temperature is between 22°C and 30°C (germination period: 6-20 days); it is therefore recommended to use a greenhouse and a heating mat. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised permeable soil and should not be left in standing water. They should be placed in a sunny, sheltered place with at least 6 hours of sunlight per day, if not more. Place the plants outside around 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.
