Monkey Flower Mimulus tigrinus Seeds

Info: The Monkey Flower originally comes from Chile and with its large yellow-red flowers is one of the most colourful plants on the lakeshore. The plants grow about 30 cm high in small horsts and like a humid to wet location, which can also be flooded from time to time. It is therefore suitable for pond edges, but also for semi-shade nutrient-rich sites in perennial beds.

Sowing & care: Sow from March in pre-culture or from the end of April outdoors. Sowing depth approx. 0.5 cm. Flowering time is June to September. Although the plants can withstand sub-zero temperatures to -5°C, they often do not survive the winter, but they return by sowing themselves next year. The shoots of the plants should be completely cut back after the main flowering, approx. 5 to 10 cm above the ground. A healthy new sprout takes place a second flower.
