Hydrangea fertiliser plus blue colouring agent
Organic-mineral NPK fertiliser 6+5+10 with 3 % magnesium Combi-pack with 700 g fertiliser plus 200 g alum for blue colouring in an extra bag Special fertiliser for Hydrangea macrophylla, with the blue colouring agent alum in an extra bag. This hydrangea fertiliser ensures healthy, balanced growth. Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium as well as the naturally bound trace nutrients are supplied to the lush flowering plants as needed. This ensures: Application rate: 50-100 g/plant Application/DOSAGE Application of hydrangea fertiliser: A heaped tablespoon of the fertiliser weighs approx. 15 g, a handful approx. 40 g. Hydrangeas love sunny or semi-shady, wind-protected spots and nutritious, fresh, humus-rich soil. Water sufficiently before and during the flowering period from July to August, the water requirement is then quite high. Hydrangeas tolerate rainwater better than chalky tap water. Use of blue dye: Dosage of the blue colouring agent: 1 heaped tablespoon weighs approx. 18 g.
Content: 900 g/for approx. 10 hydrangeas
For new planting, depending on the size of the hydrangea, mix 50-100 g per plant with the planting substrate. For existing plants, e.g. in containers, sprinkle 50-100 g per plant in early spring and work in lightly. Do not fertilise after the beginning of July!
In the days following fertilisation, ensure that the plants are sufficiently watered.
The flower colour of hydrangeas depends on the pH of the soil. On alkaline, calcareous soils the flowers are pink or red; on acidic soils the flowers turn purple to blue. A sufficiently acidic soil , which can also be achieved by adding peat to the planting substrate, ensures the blue colouring. You can colour pink hydrangeas blue with the added blue colouring agent alum. Add 5 g alum per litre to the lukewarm water two to three times in autumn and spring. The flower colours of white hydrangeas are not affected by alum.
