Pumpkin Turks Turban Seeds

Info: Pumpkin `Turks Turban` is a heirloom from France and produces beautiful fruits striped in red, orange, green and white and distinctively shaped with each fruit having its own "cap" or "turban" on top. The flesh is bright orange, thick and with a typical pumpkin flavour. It is very tasty when picked young and stuffed with rice or meat. It is often also grown for ornamental purposes.

Sowing & cultivation: Pumpkin plants need a lot of space as creeping plants and a good nutrient supply. The soil should therefore be profound and nutritious. From mid-May can be sown directly into the open field. Depending on the variety a plant needs up to 2m² of space. Abundant irrigation is very important, especially in the beginning. A typical pumpkin problem are snails. Try as protection a thick ring of sawdust around the young plant. It should be fertilized with a few horns, four weeks later with full fertilizer. The harvest begins in September and lasts until the frost.
