Shirataki noodles silk

Shirataki noodles are made from konjac flour (glucomannan).

The konjac root is very rich in water-soluble dietary fibre, but contains no usable carbohydrates. Therefore, they have almost no calories and are also suitable for diabetics, as they do not increase insulin levels.

In Asian cuisine, shirataki noodles are a traditional food for noodle soups, noodle dishes and the Japanese sukiyaki stew.
