Yardies Jerk Marinade
According to an original Jamaican family recipe: Bring the taste of Jamaica home.
In YARDIES Jerk Marinade, allspice meets thyme and cinnamon, and a hint of Scotch Bonnet Peppers rounds things off to create a zesty marinade for meat, fish and tofu. The rustic texture makes the marinade stick better and transforms any barbecue into a Caribbean taste experience.
What is jerk?
Anyone who travels to Jamaica inevitably comes into contact with jerk. Most commonly, it is chicken (jerk chicken) and pork (jerk pork), although other meats can also be marinated with jerk. Jerk is a spicy, often moderately to extremely hot marinade with which the meat is marinated for several hours.
In Jamaica, traditional jerk is grilled in a barrel. Jerk is in most cases spicy and only slightly hot, because even in Jamaica not everyone likes to eat very hot food.
This sauce is based on the family recipe of Christine, founder of YARDIES.
YARDIES sauces and marinades come from their own production in Germany - without preservatives, without flavour enhancers. They are easy and quick to use and have a heat level adapted for the European market.
