Chipotle Morita Chili Powder 1kg

Chipotle chillies are with pecan wood smoked red jalapeño peppers, they therefore have a pleasant smoked aroma and a lower water content. The correct term for this type of Chipotle is Chipotle Morita.

Once completely dried out, the chillies are ground to a fine powder, allowing the aroma to develop to its full. They have the mild to medium heat of jalapenos (5,000 - 10,000 SHU). Chipotle chili peppers are a key ingredient in Mexican, Spanish and South American cuisine. Their flavour can be described best as smokey and tobacco-like with notes of nuts, lemon and fried bacon. The taste fits perfect with  barbecue sauces, hearty stews and grilled meats.
