Chipotle Chilli Flakes

Chipotle chillies are whole, red-ripened, fragrant jalapeño chillies that have been dried and smoked over a wood fire.

With hardly any other chilli variety from Mexico can you recognise the taste more clearly than with chipotle chillies. They are warm and relatively mild with aslightly smoky taste. Their spiciness therefore lies more in the relaxing, rather than the crisp heat level.

Besides smoky, the flavours can be described as tobacco-like, nutty, lemony and like fried bacon. The aroma goes perfectly with barbecue sauces, chilli con carne, grilled food, hearty stews and braised dishes.
