Cigaretta di Bergamo Chili Seeds
Info: The Cigaretta di Bergamo chillies come from the Bergamo region of Italy. They resemble Cayennes in their appearance, but are considerably milder in flavour. The plants are bushy, grow up to approx. 60 - 70 cm in height and are very high yielding. Their approx. 5 x 18 cm large, mild fruits ripen from green to red.
The chillies are suitable for almost anything, and can be used at every stage of ripeness. In Italy, the green peppers are often pickled. However, they are also suitable for drying and stuffing, and due to their mildness they are suitable for fresh consumption.
Care: The germination temperature is between 20 und 28°C (7 - 20 day germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost. If you plant them outdoors, the plants should have a distance between them of at least 30 cm.
