Black Hungarian Chili Seeds
Info: The Hungarian Black Chili from Hungary is a mild variety with an excellent flavour and a high yield. The leaves of the approx. 80 cm large plants have a violet shimmer, and the flowers are also a decorative violet. The approx. 3 x 7 cm large chilies are initially aubergine coloured and then ripen to a dark red. They resemble Jalapenos in shape and flavour. They are suitable for fresh consumption, for cooking, making sauces, stuffing and drying.
Care: The germination temperature is between 20 und 28°C (7 - 20 day germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost. If you plant them outdoors, the plants should have a distance between them of at least 45 cm.
Tips for successful chili cultivation can be found in our Chili Cultivation Instructions and in the Chili Diary.
