NuMex Big Jim Chili Seeds

Info: The NuMex Big Jim Chili is a new breading of the New Mexico State University (from 1975) and has an entry in the Guiness Book of Records as the longest chili in the world. The plants grow bushy and remain relatively small (60 - 90 cm), considering their very large fruits. The chillies have a mild heat and mature to red. The largest measured pods were about 35 cm long, but usually they get 20 - 25 cm. They are fleshy and tasty, and are suitable for fresh consumption, for the salad, for filling, grilling and cooking.

Care: The germination temperature is between 20 und 28°C (7 - 20 day germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.
