Costeno Amarillo Chili Seeds
Costeno Amarillo Chili Seeds
Info: The Costeno Amarillo Chili originates from the Oaxaca region of Mexico and is traditionally used there for the yellow colouring of the Mole Sauce. The plants are bushy, can grow up to one metre in height, and are high yielding. Their approx. 2 x 7 cm large fruits ripen to a full yellow-orange colour, have a mild level of spiciness and are thin-walled.
The Costeno Amarillo Chili is an excellent variety which has a delicious lemon flavour and is therefore fantastic either for fresh consumption or as an addition to salads. Due to their thin walls, the chillies are also very easy to dry.
Care: The germination temperature is between 20 und 28°C (10 - 21 day germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating pad is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.
Tips for successful chili cultivation can be found in our Chili Cultivation Instructions and in the Chili Diary.
