Chie Chien Chili Seeds
Info: The Chie Chien Chili originates from China and is a very popular variety there. The plants grow bushy and remain relatively small. They are therefore suitable for cultivation in pots on the balcony or windowsill. The narrow, red chillies grow upright in bundles, making the plants particularly eye-catching. The small peppers have a medium level of spiciness and are thin walled. In China they are used in many typical Chinese dishes, and are often dried. They are also suitable for fresh consumption and for pickling.
Care: The germination temperature is between 20 und 28°C (8 - 21 day germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.
Tips for successful chili cultivation can be found in our Chili Cultivation Instructions and in the Chili Diary.
