Aji Colorado Chili Seeds
Info: The Aji Colorado Chili originates from Bolivia and is a little-known variety here. It is less demanding than the tropical Chili varieties: it germinates well even in cooler temperatures, can withstand short periods of bad weather, and doesn`t have too long a ripening period - it is therefore ideal for cultivation in our climate. The long chillies have an excellent flavour and a good level of spiciness. The fruits are particularly suitable for a delicious salsa or for grilling, but are also good for pickling and drying.
Care: The germination temperature is between 20 und 28°C (8 - 21 day germination period), therefore the use of a< greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.
Tips for successful chili cultivation can be found in our Chili Cultivation Instructions and in the Chili Diary.
