Santa Fe Grande Chili Seeds
Info: The Santa Fe Grande Chili, also known as "Caribe" or "Guero" in Mexico, is a very prolific cultivar used in the Southwestern United States and Mexico. It does also well in Northern Europe with its short growing season. Plants grow about 2 feet tall and are resistant to tobacco mosaic virus. The pretty cone-shaped pods mature from yellow to orange-red with mild heat and a slight frutiy sweetness. It works well either cooked or fresh for salads, salsas, and other dishes based on chile peppers. This pepper is also good to pickle or to cook with. Ideal chili for your kitchen!
Care: The germination temperature is between 20 und 28°C (7 - 20 day germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.
