Cayenne Thick Chili Seeds
Info: The Cayenne Chili is one of the most widespread chili varieties worldwide, and is a real spice classic. The Cayenne originally comes from Latin America and is primarily sold in our region as Cayenne Pepper. However, the name is somewhat misleading, as it is not black pepper, it is a chili powder.
The Cayenne Long Red Thick Chili is a breeding of the famous Cayenne Chili from the USA. The plants are bushy and grow up to approx. 75 cm in height. They develop a variety of the typical winding peppers (approx. 2 x 14 cm) which ripen to a bright red and are somewhat fleshier than the original Cayennes. The Cayenne Long Red Thick chilies are most suitable for all kinds of spicy dishes. They are also excellent for drying and pickling.
Care: The germination temperature is between 22 und 28°C (7 - 20 day germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.
