Tabasco Black Chili Seeds
Info: The Tabasco Black Chili is a cross breeding between Tabasco and Pimenta de Neyde. The plants are bushy and perennial, therefore in our climate they should be cultivated in pots so they can be overwintered. From the second year they usually grow many fruits. The small peppers grow upright and ripen from black to orange to red. Although the fruit walls are thin, the flavourful peppers are very juicy. They are suitable for fresh consumption and for making sauces, but also for pickling, drying and making chili powder.
Care: The germination temperature is between 22 und 28°C (8 - 21 day germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.
Tips for successful chili cultivation can be found in our Chili Cultivation Instructions and in the Chili Diary.
