Peter Pepper - Penis Chili Black
Info: The black Peter Pepper Chili (also called Penis Chili) originates from the USA and is an unusual variety with a really original look. The spicy peppers are a real eye-catcher on the plate. They are a popular variety for pickling in schnapps or vinegar, and their shape always makes for some surprised looks.
The unmistakeable fruits (some more obvious than others) ripen from green to black to red and reach sizes of approx. 2.5 x 10 - 15 cm. The chili plants have many branches and are bushy. The flavour has a fruity pepper note with an intense spiciness. They are suitable for all kinds of spicy dishes, as well as for drying.
Care: The germination temperature is between 20 und 28°C (7 - 20 day germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.
