Bat Plant Seeds
Bat Plant Seeds
Info: The tropical bat flower is really something special: with its dark purple petals and long stamens, it looks like a flying bat. It is also known by the names devil`s flower or demon`s flower. However, its cultivation is not easy and only for experienced tropical plant lovers. It often blooms for three to four months in summer, so it is really worth growing it.
Sowing & cultivation: Sowing can take place indoors all year round. To do this, place the seeds on the ground and cover only lightly with soil. If you cover the container with transparent film, you will prevent the seeds from drying out. Keep warm (approx. 25°C) and moist. Every 2-3 days remove the foil for 2 hours to prevent mould growth. Later the plants want a constant temperature above 17°C, a moist soil and a semi-shady place, e.g. on the windowsill. As it is used to high humidity, it is grateful for regular water spraying. Water regularly and keep moist, but avoid dammed-up water. Fertilize regularly (every 14 days). Adult plants can be reproduced by rhizome division in spring.
