Passion Fruit Seeds
Info: The tropical passion fruit is a climbing plant with beautiful flowers and very tasty sour fruit. The flowers have white petals and pretty purple filaments around the multicoloured centre. From the fruit you can eat the jelly-like pulp surrounding the seeds, which is yellowish-orange in colour, together with the brown or black seeds. The plants are climbing plants and need a climbing aid.
Sowing & cultivation: Soak the seeds in lukewarm water for 1-2 days. Fill a small plant pot max. to about 3/4 with only slightly moist plant substrate (low in nutrients, a mixture of coconut substrate and perlite or sand) and place the seeds at a distance of at least 1 cm from the substrate and press them against it. Do not cover. If you cover the container with transparent film, prevent the seeds from drying out. Keep warm (approx. 25-30°C) and moist. Every 2-3 days remove the foil for 2 hours to prevent mould growth. Keep evenly moist, but avoid waterlogging. Fertilize first after pricking.
The adult plants need a lot of water, if possible low in lime and full sun all day long.
