Giant Redwood Tree Seeds
Info: The giant sequoia is one of the most impressive trees on earth. In North America, where it comes from, it can reach heights of up to 90 metres. Accordingly, plan some space in the garden for it. The sequoia is hardy and evergreen and belongs to the swamp cypress family. The flowers are wind-pollinated and the first cones grow as fruit after about 10 years.
Sowing & cultivation: First put the seeds in the fridge for 10-14 days and then soak them in water for 2 days. Since sequoia trees are light germimators, do not cover the seeds with soil. Keep well warm and always slightly moist. The plants should be planted from a size of 20 cm into the garden, because the roots need a lot of space, which cannot be guaranteed in the tub. Make sure that the tree needs a lot of space.
The sequoia tree needs a nutrient-rich, gravelly to sandy soil and a sunny to semi-shade location. As long as it is well watered, it needs no further care.
