Dutchman`s Pipe (Aristolochia) Seeds
Info: The Dutchman`s pipe Aristolochia, is a frugal climbing houseplant, whose unusual flowers invite you to marvel and contemplate. The leaves are heart-shaped and also very pretty. The flowers form a flesh-coloured tube into which the insects creep for pollination. The ghost plant blooms in the months from July to September.
Sowing & cultivation: Place the seeds approx. 0.5 cm deep in moist growing soil. If you cover the growing container with transparent film, you will prevent the seeds from drying out. Keep warm (approx. 25-30°C) and moist. Every 2-3 days remove the foil for 2 hours to prevent mould growth. Keep evenly moist, but avoid waterlogging. It is essential to install a climbing aid. Water regularly.
The plants like a bright location without direct sunlight. A brighter, but somewhat cooler place (10-15°C) is suitable for overwintering. Spraying the leaves is recommended. In spring you can cut the shoots back to 30 cm.
