Sunflower Merida Seeds
Info: Sunflower Merida is a special, small-growing cultivar with beautiful large flowers that shine in rings of colour: a beautiful golden yellow on the outside, then a red ring and a dark brown centre. The small beauties only grow to a maximum size of 70 cm, often carry several flower heads and are a real eye-catcher in the perennial bed. They are also well suited for pots and tubs on the terrace and balcony.
Sunflowers are grateful and undemanding garden flowers, which are particularly beautiful as background plants. These vibrant blooms are also known to attract an array of beneficial insects to the garden as well, such as butterflies, bumblebees, honeybees and birds.
Sowing & care: Sowing takes place directly from April outdoors. Sowing depth is about 1cm at a distance of 40-60 cm. A pre-culture in the house is also possible and brings an earlier bloom. Sunflowers like a sunny, wind-protected location and a loamy, nutrient-rich garden soil, which may also contain some sand for better drainage. They do not like waterlogging because then they tend to root rot. Sunflowers need many nutrients and are grateful for fertilizer or nettle liquid manure.
