Purple Loosestrife Seeds
Info: The Purple Loosestrife forms inflorescences up to 120 cm high with bright pink flowers. These are not only a pleasure to look at, but also attract many bees and butterflies into the garden. In former times it was also used as a medicinal plant, e.g. for skin problems and diarrhoea diseases like dysentery as well as for lowering the blood sugar level.
Sowing & care: Sow the seeds in late summer or spring directly outdoors. Pre-planting in trays is possible from March. Keep very moist. Seeds often germinate only after exposure to cold (after a winter). The perennials like a sunny to semi-shady location and above all they need a moist to wet soil. They tolerate little moisture in the bed only on heavy, loamy soils.
