Dahlia Red Skin Mix Seeds
Info: The name Dahlia Red Skin Mix derives from the plant`s interesting bronze-red foliage. The flowers are semi-double with wide petals in bright colours from white to yellow and orange to scarlet red. The plants remain compact and grow to about 40 cm in size.
Sowing & Cultivation: Sow from the beginning of March in pre-culture (not earlier, as otherwise the seedlings get too little light and etiolate). Sowing depth approx. 0.5 cm in fine compost, preferably in individual pots. Keep soil damp but not wet. So that the young plants grow bushy, the main sprout can be cut. After a short time, the plant sprouts there with twice or even four times the number of shoots. From mid-May, you can gradually acclimatise the plants to outdoor conditions before planting out after all risk of frost. Bed distance approx. 40 cm. Dahlias prefer good moisture retentive soil and full sun.
Growing dahlias from seeds is a good alternative for all those who do not have a suitable place to hibernate the tubers.
