Pineapple Beefsteak Tomato Seeds
Info: The Pineapple Beefsteak tomato is a very beautiful orange-yellow beefsteak tomato from the USA. The fruits can weigh up to 1000 g and when cut up resemble a pineapple with yellow-red marbling. They are very flavourful with a light note of pineapple, and have few seeds. The plants can grow up to 2 metres in height, and as the fruits can be very heavy, you should ensure that not all fruits remain on the plant and that the plant is well supported. Due to their exceptional aroma they are particularly good for fresh consumption.
Care: You can grow the Pineapple Beefsteak tomatoes inside the house, in a greenhouse or outdoors. The optimal germination temperature is between 20 and 25°C and germination occurs after 8 - 14 days. You can speed up the germination process if you leave the seeds to soak overnight in a damp cloth. You should wait until after the last frost to plant your chosen plants.
Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil which is kept moist (but not wet!). They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more.
