Ponderosa Pink Tomato Seeds
Info: The Ponderosa Pink tomato is a traditional beefsteak tomato variety from the USA and can reach a weight of up to 300 g. The fruits ripen to a beautiful light red to pink, are very juicy with a lot of fruit fresh and few seeds. They have a mild, typical tomatoey flavour. As they are very firm, they are suitable for salads, as well as for cooking and preserving. The up to 180 cm large plants are very high yielding, however the tomatoes ripen relatively late.
Care: You can grow the Ponderosa Pink tomatoes inside the house, in a greenhouse or outdoors. The optimal germination temperature is between 20 and 25°C, and germination occurs after 8 - 14 days. You can speed up the germination process if you leave the seeds to soak overnight in a damp cloth. You should wait until after the last frost to plant your chosen plants.
Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil which is kept moist (but not wet!). They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more.
