Mortgage Lifter Tomato Seeds
Info: The Mortgage Lifter Tomato is an old variety from the USA which gets its name from the idea that the breeder could pay off their debts faster by selling these tomatoes. The fleshy fruits are dark pink and extremely juicy, and under good conditions can weigh up to 1 kilogram. They are suitable for fresh consumption, but are also great for tomato soups and sauces.
Care: You can grow the Mortgage Lifter tomatoes inside the house, in a greenhouse or outdoors. The optimal germination temperature is between 20 and 25°C, and germination occurs after 8 - 14 days. You can speed up the germination process if you leave the seeds to soak overnight in a damp cloth. You should wait until after the last frost to plant your chosen plants.
Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil which is kept moist (but not wet!). They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more.
