Black Russian Tomato Seeds
Info: The Black Russian tomato is an old Russian variety with medium-sized round to flat round tomatoes which ripen to a beautiful reddish brown. The fruits grow up to 300 g in weight and have an unusual spicy flavour - not too sweet. The plants grow up to 160 cm high and are high yielding. Since the tomatoes become large and numerous, it is necessary to support the side branches. In addition the plants should be pinched off and all side shoots removed.
Care: You can grow the Black Russian tomatoes inside the house, in a greenhouse or outdoors. The optimal germination temperature is between 20 and 25°C, and germination occurs after 8 - 14 days. You can speed up the germination process if you leave the seeds to soak overnight in a damp cloth. You should wait until after the last frost to plant your chosen plants.
Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil which is kept moist (but not wet!). They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more.
