Big Rainbow Tomato Seeds
Info: The Big Rainbow tomato is a heirloom tomato from the USA with red-orange-yellow stripes that remind of a rainbow. Sometimes they develop green shpulders. It is a beefsteak tomato with fruits reaching up to 600 g. The tomatoes have a very good flavor with a little more sweetness than acidity and are juicy. Even longtime growers of heirloom types are surprised and delighted by Big Rainbows parade of flavors. They are suitable for fresh consumption as well as for cooking and preserving. The plants like it warm and dry (rain protection).
Care: You can grow the Big Rainbow tomatoes inside the house, in a greenhouse or outdoors. The optimal germination temperature is between 20 and 25°C, and germination occurs after 8 - 14 days. You can speed up the germination process if you leave the seeds to soak overnight in a damp cloth. You should wait until after the last frost to plant your chosen plants.
Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil which is kept moist (but not wet!). They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more.
