Giant Pear Red Tomato Seeds
Info: The Giant Pear Red Tomato is a North Italian variety which produces large, red and pear-shaped beefsteak tomatoes with heavy ribbing. The fruits can grow up to a pound, have a meaty dark red flesh with few seeds and a rich tomato flavour. One of the best beefsteak tomatoes. They are suitable for fresh consumption as well as for cooking and preserving. For best results in yield, provide support and tie in regularly.
Care: You can grow the Giant Pear tomatoes inside the house, in a greenhouse or outdoors. The optimal germination temperature is between 20 and 25°C, and germination occurs after 8 - 14 days. You can speed up the germination process if you leave the seeds to soak overnight in a damp cloth. You should wait until after the last frost to plant your chosen plants.
Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil which is kept moist (but not wet!). They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more.
