Costoluto Genovese Tomato Seeds
Info: The Costoluto Genovese tomato is an Italian favorite heirloom that has been around since the early 19th century. The tomatoes are flat-rounded, brightly red and heavily ripped, and the flavour is fantastic: very tasty, hearty and with a high acidic content. The Costoluto Genovese is a real allrounder in the kitchen - for canning, cooking, juicing, and it tastes delicious in salads and on sandwiches, too. It is the secret ingredient for countless Italian family recipes. The plants are vigorous and prefer the hottest spot in the garden.
Care: You can grow the Costoluto Genovese tomatoes inside the house, in a greenhouse or outdoors. The optimal germination temperature is between 20 and 25°C, and germination occurs after 8 - 14 days. You can speed up the germination process if you leave the seeds to soak overnight in a damp cloth. You should wait until after the last frost to plant your chosen plants.
Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil which is kept moist (but not wet!). They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more.
