Belmonte Tomato Seeds
Info: The Belmonte tomato is a rare and delicious Italian heirloom from the region of Calabria. The large pink-red fruits are slightly ribbed and very tasty, juicy and produce few seeds. The plants are productive and could produce 25 tomatoes per plant, each weighing up to 1 lb or more. The tomatoes are mild and tasty and perfectly suitable for the traditional Italian tomato and mozzarella dish, as well as for sauces.
Care: You can grow the Belmonte tomatoes inside the house, in a greenhouse or outdoors. The optimal germination temperature is between 20 and 25°C, and germination occurs after 8 - 14 days. You can speed up the germination process if you leave the seeds to soak overnight in a damp cloth. You should wait until after the last frost to plant your chosen plants.
Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil which is kept moist (but not wet!). They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more.
