Giant Tree Tomato Seeds
Information: Tomato `Giant Tree` is a unusual Italian heirloom. It grows enormous tree like vines reaching up to 5 metres in length. Grown in a Mediterranean climate or in the greenhouse with an overhead support they can be pruned into a tree like structure. This variety is high yielding and produces large pinkish red fruits up to 700 g in size. They are very sweet, meaty, juicy, flavourful and with very few seeds.
Care: You can grow tomatoes at home, in a greenhouse or outside. Cover seeds only slightly with soil. Optimum germinating temperature is between 20°C and 25°C, germination takes place after 5-15 days. You can accelerate germination by priming them overnight in a damp cloth. The young plant should not be planted outside until after the last frost.
Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised permeable soil, which is kept damp (but not wet!). They should be placed in a sunny, sheltered place with at least 6 hours of sunlight per day, if not more.
