RAF Tomato Seeds
Information: The RAF tomato is a selected strain from Almeria, Spain, and the name Raf stands for resistant to Fusarium wilt (spanish: "Resiste A Fusarium"). In Spain they are usually harvested green or green-brown. There they are also poured with salt water, so they get their very special flavourful aroma. However, you should be very careful with additional salt doses (possibly every 4 weeks with a 1% saline solution and only to adult plants). The round flattened beefsteak tomatoes have a spicy taste, hardly any seeds and a juicy, firm flesh. Ideal for salads for slicing and as a snack.
Care: You can grow tomatoes at home, in a greenhouse or outside. Cover seeds only slightly with soil. Optimum germinating temperature is between 20°C and 25°C, germination takes place after 5-15 days. You can accelerate germination by priming them overnight in a damp cloth. The young plant should not be planted outside until after the last frost.
Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised permeable soil, which is kept damp (but not wet!). They should be placed in a sunny, sheltered place with at least 6 hours of sunlight per day, if not more.
