Black Cherry Tomato Seeds
Black Cherry Tomato Seeds
Info: The Black Cherry tomato is a delicious and juicy cocktail tomato from the USA. The plants can grow very large (up to 2 metres) and are extremely high yielding. The small, round, black-violet-dark red ripening fruits grow on long, thick panicles, and are full-flavoured and sweet with soft fruit flesh. The small violet fruits are suitable for eating directly from the bush, but they are also eye-catching in salads and buffets. The plants have a high warmth requirement and should not be planted out too early.
Care: You can grow the Black Cherry tomatoes inside the house, in a greenhouse or outdoors. The optimal germination temperature is between 20 and 25°C, and germination occurs after 8 - 14 days. You can speed up the germination process if you leave the seeds to soak overnight in a damp cloth. You should wait until after the last frost to plant your chosen plants.
Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil which is kept moist (but not wet!). They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more.
