Fiaschetto Tomato Seeds
Info: The Fiaschetto tomato is a delicious bush tomato, ideal for growing in pots or hanging basket on the balcony or terrace. The plants only reach a height of 30 to 50 cm and are resistant to tomato mosaic virus, Verticillum, Fusarium and nematodes. The plants produce lots of deep red plum tomatoes, with a bit of a nipple at the end. In the region of Brindisi, where it comes, it is traditionally used for passata, sauces and canning.
Care: You can grow the Fiaschetto tomatoes inside the house, in a greenhouse or outdoors. The optimal germination temperature is between 20 and 25°C, and germination occurs after 8 - 14 days. You can speed up the germination process if you leave the seeds to soak overnight in a damp cloth. You should wait until after the last frost to plant your chosen plants.
Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil which is kept moist (but not wet!). They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more.
