Camone Tomato Seeds
Info: The Camone tomato comes from Sardinia and is known there as the best tomato for salads. The fruits are juicy and crack resistant and hold up well in storage. They have an intense tomato flavour and a great balance of acidic and sweet. In Sardinia this variety is grown in spring as the green tomatoes may turn yellow if they are exposed to exceeding sunlight. The plants are resistant to fungal diseases.
Care: You can grow the Camone tomatoes inside the house, in a greenhouse or outdoors. The optimal germination temperature is between 20 and 25°C, and germination occurs after 8 - 14 days. You can speed up the germination process if you leave the seeds to soak overnight in a damp cloth. You should wait until after the last frost to plant your chosen plants.
Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil which is kept moist (but not wet!). They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more.
