Dattelwein Tomato Seeds
Info: The Dattelwein tomato is a German heirloom that produces pretty, pear-shaped, yellow cocktail tomatoes. They hang on enormous grapes with up to 100 fruits. The tomatoes are firm, juicy-sweet and tangy at the same time and especially popular with children. Suitable as a pinch-tomato and for salads. The plants can grow up to 2 meters tall and need a espalier, trellis or a lath construction for tying. It may make sense to leave only 3 - 4 of the rich panicles on the plant.
Care: You can grow tomatoes inside the house, in a greenhouse or outdoors. The optimal germination temperature is between 20 and 25°C, and germination occurs after 8 - 14 days. You can speed up the germination process if you leave the seeds to soak overnight in a damp cloth. You should wait until after the last frost to plant your chosen plants.
Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil which is kept moist (but not wet!). They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more.
