Balkonstar Tomato Seeds
Info: The Balkonstar tomato is a small variety (up to 70 cm) which produces many red, round, medium-sized fruits (35 - 60 g). It originates from Germany or Austria and is early ripening and high yielding. Due to their small size, the plants are ideal for balconies or pots, but can also be grown outdoors. As a bush tomato, this variety’s shoots do not need to be pinched off. The tomatoes have 2-3 chambers, are savoury, almost sweet, and burst-resistant. They are suitable as salad tomatoes and for cooking.
Care: You can grow the Balkonstar tomatoes inside the house, in a greenhouse or outdoors. The optimal germination temperature is between 20 and 25°C and germination occurs after 8 - 14 days. You can speed up the germination process if you leave the seeds to soak overnight in a damp cloth. You should wait until after the last frost to plant your chosen plants.
Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil which is kept moist (but not wet!). They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more.
