Amateur Tomato Seeds
Info: The Amateur tomato is an excellent variety for growing outdoors and produces a high yield of plants. The plants grow bushy and stay relatively small (up to 120 cm), so pinching off shoots is not necessary. However, it may be the case that the branches need to be supported due to the heavy tomatoes. The fruits are red, round and reach a weight of approx. 60 - 100 g. They are very flavourful and sweet and are suitable for fresh consumption, as salad tomatoes and for cooking.
Care: You can grow the Amateur tomatoes inside the house, in a greenhouse or outdoors. The optimal germination temperature is between 20 and 25°C, and germination occurs after 8 - 14 days. You can speed up the germination process if you leave the seeds to soak overnight in a damp cloth. You should wait until after the last frost to plant your chosen plants.
Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil which is kept moist (but not wet!). They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more.
