Order Banana Legs tomato seeds online
Info: The Banana Legs tomato is an unusual and beautiful variety with fruits shaped like short bananas (approx. 7 x 3.5 cm). The bush growing plants produce a variety of yellow, long fruits which are juicy and flavourful with a pleasant sweetness. They should be eaten directly from the plant, as a wooden fibre from the stalk often pervades through the fruit. This fibre should be removed when cutting up the tomatoes for cooking or making a salad. The plants have a maximum size of 150 cm and are also good for cultivation in pots.
Care: You can grow the Banana Legs tomatoes inside the house, in a greenhouse or outdoors. The optimal germination temperature is between 20 and 25°C, and germination occurs after 8 - 14 days. You can speed up the germination process if you leave the seeds to soak overnight in a damp cloth. You should wait until after the last frost to plant your chosen plants.
Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil which is kept moist (but not wet!). They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more.
