San Marzano Red Plum Tomato Seeds
Info: The San Marzano Red Plu, tomato is a variety of the popular San Marzano tomato. This dwarf variety grows small and bushy and is therefore ideally suited for pot culture. The plants are prolific and produce lots of small deep-red and plum-shaped fruits. The meaty fruits have an intense tomato flavour with low acid. They are ideal for cooking and for fresh use.
Care: You can grow the San Marzano Red Plum tomatoes inside the house, in a greenhouse or outdoors. The optimal germination temperature is between 20 and 25°C, and germination occurs after 8 - 14 days. You can speed up the germination process if you leave the seeds to soak overnight in a damp cloth. You should wait until after the last frost to plant your chosen plants.
Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil which is kept moist (but not wet!). They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more.
