Pea Avola Seeds
Info: Pea `Avola` is a variety with good crop production and with full foliage. It poduces masses of large, blunt-ended pods containing 8-9 light green, sweet and tender peas of great quality. The peas are ideal for freezing or fresh picking.
Sowing & cultivation: Sow when the soil is warm to the touch, which will be some time between the middle of March and the end of April. Sowing depth: 4-5 cm. Peas require a sunny position with well-drained and nutrient-rich soil, but not acidic. Use bamboo canes, pea sticks, trellis, netting or chicken wire as a climbing support for the plants. Once you feel the seeds in the pod, the peas are ripe for harvest. The more you harvest, the more they will produce. As the containing sugar decomposes very quickly, they taste sweetest immediately after harvesting.
