Pea Carouby de Maussane Seeds
Info: Pea `Carouby de Maussane` is an exceptional sugar or snow pea from southern France with lavender-coloured flowers and delicate tender pods. The pods are 12 cm long and are thin, delicate and without fibres. The best time to harvest is when the peas doesn`t have developped and to use the whole pod. But even in full size, the peas are tastefully sweet and the pods are not fibrous at all. Absolute recommendation!
Sowing & cultivation: Sow when the soil is warm to the touch, which will be some time between the middle of March and the end of April. Sowing depth: 4-5 cm. Peas require a sunny position with well-drained and nutrient-rich soil, but not acidic. Use bamboo canes, pea sticks, trellis, netting or chicken wire as a climbing support for the plants. Once you feel the seeds in the pod, the peas are ripe for harvest. The more you harvest, the more they will produce. As the containing sugar decomposes very quickly, they taste sweetest immediately after harvesting.
